Full-Time Student Process
To qualify for full-time status, a student must take a minimum of 5 courses per semester.
Oaks Christian Online School has a selective admissions policy. After careful review, OCO admits students with approved applications and fully processed tuition payments during regularly scheduled enrollment periods.
Steps for Full-Time Enrollment:
Step 1: Complete the Full-Time Student Online Application
Complete the application, pay the application fee, and submit.
Step 2: Take the SmarterMeasure Test
Once an application has been submitted and accepted, the students will receive a confirmation email directing them to the SmarterMeasure website. The email also provides a username and password, and the student is expected to login and complete the online readiness test for OCO. Click here to find out more about the SmarterMeasure Test.
Parents: Please ensure that your student is set up and prepared to take the readiness test. The test has seven sections and should take about 30-45 minutes. Once the student is logged in they should not leave the site and should complete the test in one sitting as the user name and password is not user name specific. Test results will be sent to the student as well as to the OCO admissions department within a few minutes of completion.
Step 3: Schedule Your Family Interview
Once the SmarterMeasure Readiness Test has been successfully completed, the Office of Admissions will contact the family to schedule the family interview. The interview can be conducted on the main campus, by telephone of via Skype depending on the family's geographic location and preference.
Note: Please be sure you have completed the SmarterMeasure Test and have received the results before scheduling your interview. Admissions will want to review the test results and be prepared to discuss any potential challenges in being a successful online student during this interview.
Step 4: Provide Required Forms
The following documents are required for a full-time student to be successfully enrolled in the Oaks Christian Online School. Forms can be faxed to: 818.302.2425.
- Official Transcripts (if applicable)
- Authorization For Release of Student Records (this document is attached to the email confirming the submission of the application. - Standardized Test Records. The release of the past two years of standardized testing is requested on the Authorization for Release of Students Records Form. If the student does not have standardized test records (i.e. STAR, SAT, ERB) contact the Office of Admissions and arrangements will be made for Math and English standardized testing.
